The Office of Master’s Education (OME) serves all current students and alumni from the master’s programs in the Biological Sciences Division.

Graduates of our programs end up in a wide range of careers, both in industry and further academic study. Our goal is to provide specialized, results-oriented support around career exploration, building an active network, and securing placement in desired career paths.

UChicagoGRAD

In addition to OME Career Services, BSD Master’s students have access to UChicagoGRAD, a one-stop shop of resources to help graduate students across the University navigate their academic and professional careers. UChicagoGRAD offers the GRAD Gargoyle, an online portal for Career Development, powered by Symplicity. GRAD Gargoyle allows students to search for jobs, internships, and student employment opportunities and register for GRAD-sponsored events.

Larry Bienz, AM, LSW

Larry Bienz is the Assistant Director of Career Services in the OME where he leads BSD Master’s Career Services. Larry brings over five years’ experience providing career support with demonstrable success. As an alum of UChicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, he also brings a social work lens to students and alumni in order to provide both individualized support and centralized resources to fit the varying needs of each.
